Breakfast, Start of the day
We take pride in our award winning breakfasts and try and make it special for you. There is a lot of choice and hot breakfasts are cooked to order. Wherever possible we use locally sourced ingredients that are of high quality and fresh and include some of the regions specialities for you to try, such as the Derbyshire Oat cake, a yeasted pancake made of oatmeal and wholemeal flour or there is Derbyshire honey, runny or set – it is a treat.
We bake our own bread, it tastes delicious, and the aroma will hopefully make you want to get out of your bed in the morning. Of course there are cereals, but we prepare fruit compotes, seasonal fresh fruit salad and provide yogurt and fruit juices to accompany. If you would like to try our creamy porridge, it is made using jumbo oats and slowly cooked overnight.
If you would like a full English breakfast you will be pleased to know that our eggs are free range and our meat is supplied by a local butcher, selected following a number of tasting sessions of all available in the area, to ensure that we use, what we think, is the best.
Finally, a note about our Eggs Benedict. We have received some lovely comments about the quality of this dish; the Hollandaise sauce is made freshly for you! We suggest you try it.
There is of course a plentiful supply of fresh filter coffee and a selection of teas. We tend to use semi skimmed milk and butter, but please let us know if you have other dietary requirements.
We can cater for special diets and are flexible with the menus, so if you have any food allergies or strong dislikes please let us know when you book.
As rooms are equipped with silent refrigerators, we provide you with fresh milk for your tea and coffee making, and you can also take advantage of the facility to bring your own wine or other alcoholic beverages. Wine glasses and corkscrew are supplied.
