All published rates include VAT or local service charges at the current rate. The Bed and Breakfast reserves the right to alter prices for any reason up to the date of booking.  All prices are per room per night and include breakfast, based on 2 people sharing.  Any room can be booked for single occupancy in which case there will be a price reduction.

Prices are as advertised on the pricing page.  Please check our online availability for latest up to the minute prices and to see any special offers.

All rooms and rates offered by the Bed and Breakfast are subject to availability and the discretion of the Proprietors. Limited numbers of suitable rooms may be allocated to individual rates, packages or promotions and, when these allocations are taken up, remaining available rooms may be offered to guests at the Bed and Breakfast’s published rates in line with its rating strategies.

Deposits and cancellations

A deposit equal to one night’s stay per room is required when booking to secure the reservation.

Please let us know as soon as possible, if it becomes necessary for you to cancel or cut short your booking.  We will release the dates for re-letting as soon as possible.
For bookings of more than three nights or for multiple room bookings, the following applies; if we are able to re-let the room for the same dates, or if the cancellation is more than 14 days before the stay we will refund your deposit in full.

If we are unable the re-let the dates, and your notice of cancellation is

  • Between 14 and 7 days before the stay then 50% of deposit will be refunded.
  • Less than 7 days before the stay you will be charged the total cost of your deposit.

If you do not show or you cut short your stay (after arrival) the full cost of your booking is due.

For bookings up to and including three nights stay for one room then the following applies; if we are able to re-let the room for the same dates, or if the cancellation is more than 3 days before the stay we will refund your deposit in full.  If we are unable to re-let the dates and your notice of cancellation is less than 3 days before the stay you will be charged the cost of the first night.  If you do not show or you cut short your stay (after arrival) the full cost of your booking is due.

We strongly advise that you have travel insurance to cover you if you need to cancel.

Non-availability

We would only cancel your booking if your accommodation was unavailable due to reasons beyond our control.  We would help to find alternative accommodation for you, and refund all monies paid by you. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.

We accept Debit Cards, Visa, Mastercard, American Express or electronic transfer of funds for payment of the deposit. Where possible we prefer payment by debit card. We do not take Diners cards.   Online booking and secure online payment of the deposit is available. If you prefer to phone, please call 07931931011.

Settlement of the bill in full, less any advance payments must be made prior to departure from the Bed and Breakfast. Upon arrival the Bed and Breakfast reserves the right to request payment in full.
All major credit and debit cards are accepted.  Cash is accepted.  Cheques are not accepted. When paying using a foreign credit card payments are to be made in sterling GBP (Great British Pounds)

Check In and Departure Times

Arrival and check in times are between 3.30 pm and 8 pm on your day of arrival. We cannot guarantee that we will be available at any other times.  On the day of departure guests are requested to vacate rooms by 11am.  We will make every effort to accommodate you if an early check in is required, this must be arranged with us at least three days in advance of your arrival date and an early check in fee will be charged.  If you are held up on you journey and you think that you are going to arrive after 8 pm, you must let us know.

Accidents happen

You must let us know immediately of any damage or spillage so that we can clean or repair as soon as possible to minimise the damage. We reserve the right to charge for any breakages and/or damage caused and will charge against the card held for payment. The persons making the booking will be held responsible for any damages.  Please respect our home.  Leave muddy shoes/boots and wet clothing near the front door or use boot trays.  Ask to use our drying/utility room.

If you wish to bring food back to the bed and breakfast please use the table in the breakfast room to eat it.  We do not allow food in rooms due to the risk of spillage, staining and odours.  The refrigerators in the rooms are not suitable for food storage.

Any specialist cleaning will result in a charge being made.

Lost keys will incur a £20 charge per key for replacement

Smoking

Bridge Hill House operates a NO SMOKING policy within all areas of the Bed and Breakfast, including guest bedrooms, bathrooms, public areas, corridors and the grounds.
For resident guests who do not comply with our NO SMOKING policy, a charge will be added to their bill to include the cost of cleaning all soft furnishing to remove the odour of tobacco and for cleaning up discarded cigarette butts, of up to £250.

Non co-operation of this No Smoking Policy could result in your booking being terminated without the proprietors being liable for any refund or compensation.

The Bridge Hill House has its own off road parking area with parking for 4 cars, which is free for residents use but this is at owner’s risk (cars and contents).

As many guests come for some peace and quiet, and because we can only accept 2 guests per room, we only take guests over the age of 16.

The Bed and Breakfast at present does not have any disabled accommodation but we will do all that we can to accommodate less able visitors and those with special requirements.  If you have any special needs, including dietary needs please let us know so that we can discuss.

Behaviour

The Bed and Breakfast reserves the right to judge acceptable levels of noise or behaviour of guests. Guests or representatives must take all steps for corrective action as requested by the proprietors. In the event of failure to comply with management requests, the proprietors may terminate the booking or stop any event immediately without being liable for any refund or compensation.

Discrimination

It is the policy of the Bed and Breakfast not to discriminate on the grounds of race, colour, nationality, creed, sex, marital status, age, ethnic origin or disability.  Guests are expected to adhere to this policy and the proprietors may, without incurring any liability to the guest, remove from the Bed and Breakfast any person or persons offending against this policy.

The Bed and Breakfast is subject to statutory controls, including those relating to fire, health, hygiene and safety. These must be strictly observed by guests.

Other than for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Bridge Hill House, the Bed and Breakfast’s liability to the guest is limited to the price of the booking. Unless the Bed and Breakfast is liable under the above clause, the guest indemnifies the Bed and Breakfast from and against any and all liability and any claims, proceedings or damages resulting or arising from the booking, The Bed and Breakfast does not accept responsibility whatsoever for damage to, or theft from, or theft of, vehicles parked on the premises. We reserve the right to charge guests the cost of rectifying damage, caused by the deliberate, negligent or reckless act, omission, default or neglect of the guests or sub-contractors to the Bed and Breakfast’s property or structure. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right to make a charge to guest’s credit/debit card, or send an invoice for the amount required to make good or remedy any such damage, to the registered address. We will however make every effort to keep any costs that the guest would incur to a minimum. Third Party Liability The Bed and Breakfast does not accept any liability for services rendered by third parties to guests notwithstanding that such service may be arranged by the Bed and Breakfast. Any claim, demand, charge, suit or damages which may be incurred by the guest (or any person claiming thereunder) shall be made directly with such third parties and The Bed and Breakfast shall render all reasonable assistance in this regard.

Guests are recommended to have and be responsible for insurance to cover cancellation, curtailment, and loss of baggage, personal effects and money.

The Bed and Breakfast respects the privacy of every individual who visits our website. The data collected about you will be used to firstly fulfil any service you might request e.g. to request a brochure, make a booking etc. and secondly to improve our service. We will under no circumstances give your personal data to third parties. However, unless you specifically ask us not to (and this option is always given) we will use your data to send you further information from the Bed and Breakfast. Any e-mail sent to you will always provide you with the option to unsubscribe. This is in accordance with UK Data Protection Legislation. When making a booking, your credit card or billing account details are only retained for the purpose of handling that individual transaction, unless you ask us to keep these details for future purchases which you may make through us. In order to process a booking or enquiry, this will be destroyed on your departure. We adhere to the Data Protection Act 1998.

These terms will be construed in accordance with English law and the Bed and Breakfast and Guest submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
